APLIFY — PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction & Scope

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how M/s Dawnlight Business Services Pvt. Ltd., operating under the brand name Aplify (“Aplify”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information of users (“you”, “your”, or “User”) who access or use the Aplify mobile application or website (the “Platform”).

This Policy is prepared to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and related rules. By creating an account or continuing to use Aplify, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of your personal data in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Basic Account Information

We collect limited details required to create and manage your account: name, email address, phone number, and community selection (Armed Forces or Others). You may sign up using social login (e.g., Google).

You may modify your name and community selection before completing KYC verification. After verification these details are locked to maintain authenticity.

2.1.1 Vehicle and Listing Data

For vehicle-related or other listings, you may voluntarily provide:

  • Vehicle type, make/model, year, mileage, color;
  • Registration-related details, images, location, price and other listing information.

Aplify does not verify ownership or accuracy of listing details; users post information at their own risk.

2.1.2 User-Generated Content and Listings

Content you post (ads, images, descriptions, addresses, contact details) remains your responsibility. Aplify acts as a neutral platform and does not endorse or verify user submissions.

2.2 Additional KYC Data (Verification Documents)

When voluntarily submitted for verification, we may collect identification documents. Examples include:

Safeguards:
  • We do not request service-related or sensitive details (service numbers, rank, postings).
  • Mask or redact sensitive information before uploading (e.g., PPOs, departmental records).
  • KYC documents are collected with consent, encrypted in transit and at rest, and accessed only by authorized personnel for verification and compliance.
  • KYC documents are never sold or used for marketing.

2.3 Service Data (automatic)

We automatically collect technical data such as IP address, device identifiers, OS, app activity, crash logs, and usage metrics to maintain and improve the Platform.

2.4 Permissions (location, photos, camera, contacts)

The app may request access to your device permissions to enable features: location for carpool or localized listings; camera/photos for listing images; contacts for referrals. Permission prompts are handled by the device OS; you may deny permissions but some features may be limited.

2.5 Third-Party Data & Integrations

We integrate with services like Google Analytics, Firebase, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and push-notification providers to improve performance and engagement. KYC documents are not shared with these providers.

2.6 Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data and deliver personalized content. You can manage cookies via your browser or device settings.

2.7 Future Payment Gateway (Provision)

Currently Aplify does not process payments. If payment features are introduced, payment data will be processed by trusted third-party payment processors and Aplify will not store full card details unless explicitly permitted.

3. Use of Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Platform;
  • Personalize user experience, recommendations and ads;
  • Manage accounts and user preferences;
  • Communicate about account activity, listings and service updates;
  • Send marketing communications (with opt-out options);
  • Ensure security, prevent fraud, and investigate misuse;
  • Perform analytics, aggregated reporting and product development;
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We may use aggregated or anonymized data for research and development.

4. Automated Processing and Profiling

We do not currently make solely automated decisions that have a significant legal or similar effect on users. If such systems are implemented, we will disclose the processing logic and provide review mechanisms as required.

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal data. We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers (hosting, analytics, support) bound by confidentiality;
  • Advertising partners (in limited/anonymized form) for personalization;
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or courts when required by law;
  • Potential acquirers or investors in connection with business transactions under protections.

KYC documents are not shared with advertising or analytics partners.

6. Community Features & User Responsibility

The Platform enables C2C transactions, carpooling and auctions. Users are responsible for verifying other users and exercising caution. Aplify is not liable for outcomes of user-to-user transactions or disputes.

7. Marketing Communications & Opt-Out

We may contact you via email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messages, or WhatsApp for transactional or promotional communications.

To opt out:

  • Use the unsubscribe link in emails;
  • Adjust notification settings in the app;
  • Send an opt-out request to info@aplify.in or reply “STOP” on WhatsApp.

Transactional messages (verification codes, safety alerts) will still be sent even if you opt out of marketing messages.

8. Security, Storage & Breach Notification

We implement industry-standard security practices (TLS in transit, encryption at rest) and host data on AWS India. In the event of a data breach likely to cause harm, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

9. Children’s Data

The Platform is for users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; any such data will be deleted on discovery.

10. Cross-Border Data Transfer

Data is currently stored in India. Any international transfer will be subject to applicable legal safeguards and disclosed where required.

11. Your Rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

You may exercise rights including access, correction, erasure, withdraw consent, nominate a representative in case of death/incapacity, and lodge complaints. Contact the Grievance Officer at info@aplify.in.

12. Retention & Deletion

We retain personal data only as necessary for legitimate business, legal, or compliance purposes. KYC and critical listing records may be retained for audit, re-verification, or legal compliance even after account deletion. Other data will be deleted or anonymized.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email before taking effect. The latest Policy will always be available on the Platform.
